Ultimatebetrakeback.com reveals brand new UB.com screenshots

Ultimatebetrakeback.com reveals brand new UB.com screenshots

After a decade, online poker room Ultimatebet.com has been rebranded to UB.com. The new look, which is not unlike famous Bwin.com logo shown in Lady Gaga’s Poker face video, is still in keeping with the old yellow and black logo. But the UB site is much sleeker now and has lots more for Ultimatebet players to enjoy.

UB.com logoThe poker room’s logo has changed from the lowercase “ub” poker chip followed by “ultimatebet.com” (depending on the size of the logo) to a stylized, uppercase “UB.” The “B” has what initially looks like a tail protruding from the upper-right, but upon further inspection, the letter has been designed to look like a tilted spade. It is an upgrade from the old logo, which, while solid, was much busier compared to this one. The color scheme for UB.com is still black and yellow, but light blue has been added as an accent color and the yellow has been lightened just a bit, making the site look brighter and cleaner.

UB.com Lobby screenshotThe other primary change is the lobby. The basic layout is still the same: tabs for different games are at the top, tables listed in the main window. UB.com has made the different table variations easier to see, however, with color-coded icons on each table listing, where appropriate. For example, a turbo tournament with re-buys will have a “T” in a green circle and an “R” in an orange circle in its row. One subtle thing that’s nice about this is that the icons are smack-dab in the middle of the row so they stand out. There is also an icon legend at the bottom of the screen.

Pro Poker Player and spokesman for the site; Phil Hellmuth said of the rebranding:

“In the ten years since I have been involved with the UB brand, I have never been prouder to represent the company as much as I am right now. We have great people captaining the ship, we have a great vibe and some serious swagger. I look forward to the day when we are the largest poker site on the planet.”

Vincent Diver wins PKR Live III

Vincent Diver wins PKR Live III

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — 11/26/09 — $5 satellite qualifier Vincent ‘vd12345′ Diver made history by scooping the biggest ever PKR Live payout when he won the PKR Live III main event at London’s Loose Cannon this weekend.

The 21-year-old community favourite from Surrey followed in the footsteps of previous winners Karl ‘discomonkey’ Fenton and Philip ‘escalope’ Conneller to win the main poker event title at PKR’s third ever live event and take home a $33,500 first prize.

In the toughest PKR Live field to date, the youngster showed his quality from the off, busting the very first player out of the poker tournament out when his pocket aces saw off ‘HYPERGAMBLER’s Q-Q to gain an early chip lead. Vincent continued to show his class throughout the two day event before eventually finding himself heads-up against UK tournament circuit regular Toby ‘badboy579′ Lewis. Buoyed by the huge support from the buzzing rail of followers, the Brit played solid poker – slowly taking chunks off his rival’s stack until the decisive hand brought him victory and a significant bankroll boost when his pocket twos held up for the win.

The PKR forum members were rejoicing once more when the $200 Bounty tournament was taken down by another well-known player in the PKR.com community – Irishman Karl ‘karlthekiller’ Sinnott who outlasted a strong field to scoop $5,778 and priceless bragging rights.

PKR.com CEO Malcolm Graham said,

“We are delighted with the turnout. PKR Live has become a regular fixture on the PKR calendar and both players and staff alike look forward to a fun filled event, with top-quality poker.”
